Microsoft has announced the general availability of three new Office apps for the Android based smart phone, signalling its final step in completing the Office experience on Android devices. Word, Excel and PowerPoint have arrived in the Google Play app store for the Android smart phone., following on the heals of the Outlook, OneNote and OneDrive apps already available.

Microsoft has this week shared details for the rollout of Windows 10 starting on July 29.

In addition to a number of global launch celebrations, Microsoft is kicking off a new Upgrade Your World initiative to celebrate people and organisations making a difference around the world.

Apple has unveiled iOS 9, previewing the mobile operating system for new iPhone, iPad and iPod devices.

In the upcoming release, Apple promises iOS devices become more intelligent and proactive with powerful search and improved Siri features. It's also looking at it's competitor, Microsoft, whose Windows 8.1 software is capable running apps side by side.

Little Windows symbols are appearing in the systems trays of taskbars of personal computers all over New Zealand two months ahead of the official launch of Windows 10.

Hover your mouse pointer over the symbol, in the bottom right hand screen of the Windows Desktop on Windows 7 and 8.1 machines, and a pop up appears saying "Get Windows 10".
